True Walls of Glass Bring the Outdoors In
True walls of glass are the focal points of this stunning home. These eye-catching architectural features blur the boundaries between indoors and outdoors. With glass that spans from floor to ceiling, these window walls invite the beauty of nature into everyday living. The interior spaces are brightened by the ever-changing play of sunlight, creating a sense of openness and connection to the surrounding Kansas landscapes. Every corner of this home offers a relaxing place for residents to enjoy the serenity of the outdoors without stepping foot outside.
Fiberglass Windows Stand Up to Kansas Weather
Given the sheer size of these towering windows, the student designers selected fiberglass windows for their strength and durability. Pella’s proprietary fiberglass is the strongest material available for windows.9 The windows will never rot or corrode — and with a heavy-duty powder coat finish the homeowners will never need to repaint or refinish it. This is especially beneficial in Kansas where extreme weather is both unpredictable and common.
Kitchen Window Backsplash Brightens Prep Space
In the kitchen, stainless steel cabinets and appliances exude contemporary style. The smooth surfaces look sleek and clean. White windows serve as a creative backsplash, adding natural light to the cooking space. The choice of unobstructed glass instead of a busy backsplash tile furthers the minimalist design of this home. Above the kitchen window backsplash, open shelving provides both practical storage and an opportunity to showcase curated décor.
White Windows Complement Modern, Minimalist Design
White windows serve as the perfect complement to this modern, minimalist home design. Their crisp, understated appearance blends in with the walls, making the home feel brighter and more open. Additionally, white windows provide a versatile backdrop that allows other architectural elements and décor to take center stage. The look is both simple and sophisticated.
Partnering with University of Kansas students, we enjoyed making this project a successful learning experience for these future architects. We’re proud to have partnered together to bring their design vision to life.
