Modern Black Front Door for Minnetonka Home Makeover

Originally built in 1989, this Minnetonka, Minnesota home was over 30 years old at the time of this project. With a convenient floor plan and strong structure, the home had a great framework and just needed an exterior facelift to modernize its curb appeal. The owner decided to split the makeover into four phases, which included a new front door, windows, shingles and siding. She chose to work with Pella of Minnesota for the window and door portion.

Central to the redesign of this home was a vision for edgy, contemporary style. A sleek, modern front door stands as a statement piece, transforming the original outdated entry. The fiberglass front door with glass features four equal panes. Minimalist details like clean lines and black color fuse contemporary design with timeless elegance. Choosing clear, unobstructed glass, rather than textured or decorative glass, exudes a sense of understated luxury and refinement. Combined with sidelights on both sides of the door, this entryway allows plenty of natural light into the foyer for a warm and inviting ambiance. The homeowner loves her new front door, reflecting “that was the best decision of them all.”
