Commercial Project Case Study

Located in Bloomington, Minnesota, the IndiGO at BCS apartment complex offers great amenities, including a pool, playground, zen garden, gym and more. What attracts most residents, though, is its prime location, adjacent to both the airport and the light rail transit. However, with this convenient address comes the loud noises of urban life. This was the primary concern the building owners expressed when they turned to Pella of Minnesota for sound-resistant windows.

Designed by ESG Architects and executed by General Contractor Weis Builders, the project aimed to provide comfort and serenity for residents along with aesthetic appeal. We recommended Pella Impervia fiberglass windows for their noise resistance, durability and modern style.

Noise-Resistant Windows Help Create Quieter Apartments

The proximity of the IndiGO apartments to both the airport and light rail necessitated stringent sound reduction measures during the window selection process. Recognizing this imperative, we suggested fiberglass windows as the ideal solution. Combining laminated insulated glass and mixed pane glazing, these windows help mitigate noise pollution. Gas between the panes of glass acts as an insulator, reducing outside noises. Different glass thicknesses are paired together to help dampen sounds at different frequencies. This approach allows the residents to enjoy peace and quiet within their apartments, despite the bustling urban environment just beyond their windows.

Durable Fiberglass Windows for Minnesota’s Climate

The mix of brown and tan exterior colors, featuring a powder coat finish, not only enhances the aesthetic appeal of the building but also offers durability. The finish is factory-applied and baked on. It resists chipping, chalking and fading – even in dark colors – for enduring beauty. Fiberglass windows also boast impressive energy-efficient features, further enhancing the comfort of the apartments. They are engineered to withstand extreme temperatures, making them suitable for Minnesota’s harshest winters. Resisting air and water infiltration, they are sealed from the elements to prevent leaks and drafts. This translates to reduced energy consumption and more comfortable indoor spaces for residents.

Modern Windows for Sleek New Building

When our team at Pella of Minnesota saw the architect’s design for this building, the modern style was unmistakable. That’s another reason we suggested fiberglass windows. They are known for versatile design elements combined with sleek profiles and clean lines. These windows help achieve the design vision, attracting new residents to the building’s up-and-coming modern aesthetic.

As urban living continues to become more popular, creating comfortable and serene living environments is increasingly important. The IndiGO at BCS apartment complex sets a new standard by prioritizing the well-being of its residents through the implementation of modern, sound-resistant fiberglass windows.
