As a leader in design and innovation, Pella offers clients the latest features for windows and patio doors. Our team at Pella of Virginia showcased the newest design trends by installing farmhouse windows and a large multi-slide patio door in the annual Richmond Homearama, presented by Richmond Home Building Association. This event highlights new home design trends in six custom-built homes.

We chose the latest designs to complement the white exterior of this new construction home. Our team seamlessly installed wood windows and a large door to bring the builder’s vision to life.

Black Windows Elevate Farmhouse Style in New Construction

To create a bold statement against the neutral color palette of the modern farmhouse, our team recommended black windows. This trending window color is ideal for contrasting against the wooden beams, shiplap paneling and light-colored interior of the home. Also, this striking design choice adds unique character to a new build. As a result, black windows not only enhance the curb appeal but also help increase the overall value of the property.

Double-Hung Windows Enhance Ventilation in Modern Farmhouse

Double-hung windows achieve the modern farmhouse look while boosting energy savings through better ventilation. With two sashes that can be raised and lowered, homeowners can control the amount of fresh air entering their home. With warm air rising, the top sash releases stale air from the room, while the bottom sash draws in the cool, fresh air. This increased ventilation can reduce the need for excessive HVAC system use, leading to potential energy savings.

Long-Lasting Durability Achieved with Wood Windows

This custom-fit patio door, with its clean lines and minimal profiles, perfectly suits the living room patio entryway. It allows an abundance of natural light to flow into the home throughout the day, brightening the entire main floor and reducing the need for artificial lighting. For even more useable floor space, the doors disappear into a wall pocket when opened. By hiding in the wall, this feature gives the illusion of no wall at all, making the two spaces blend together as one. Additionally, the expansive glass panels connect the indoor and outdoor living spaces — ideal for entertaining.

Our team installed black farmhouse windows and a multi-slide patio door to create a beautiful home that shows off the latest and greatest features. Visitors loved the look and enjoyed seeing two of Pella’s most popular window lines in person!
